View Full Version : Eric's Taco SAS
BeaterToyota

Here are some pics from Eric's SAS. We did a bunch more work today; got the rear spring hangers burned on and got the steering box mounted and frame plated. Pretty much all that's left is mounting the shocks, and the hydraulic assist for the steering.
Oh, and then Eric needs to regear the rear axle, and get a new clutch, and install dual cases, and get a new front driveshaft, and finish his 1/2 doors, and build a roll cage, etc., etc.

I was going to ask if it could be bigger, I couldn't quite make out that gnat on the wall in the background.
And it looks like the hanger is off center by a 1/16" of an inch.

Almost. Just a few more things to do.
The little things suck, don't they?
I've spent more time doing the little things than actually getting the axle under the truck.
mtnyota
03-21-2007, 10:48 AM
The only thing that has really sucked is dealing with FROR and all the bullshit they feed you. I was pretty much ready to fly to Colorado to beat someone's ass. I hate being lied to! Other than that it's gone pretty smooth.

What kind of issues are you having?
FROR is hit or miss. My first order was my diamond axle with was months late. My second order was a for a draglink and little stuff that was in stock. That shipped right away and I got everything on time. My only beef is they sell non-greaseable TREs
94krawler
03-21-2007, 03:08 PM
I waited for my FROR bumper for ages. It was liek a 2-3 month wait when I ordered it and took like 6 or 7 months to get it. When it got here the mounts were at the wrong spots. I called them they said send it back and we will rework the mounts but it will take a few months. Needless to say I had a friend do it ad it was on 3 days later.

03-21-2007, 08:20 PM
No issues now, but when I ordered my axle I ordered everything else from them at the same time. That was Dec. 21 and I just got the last of my parts 3 weeks ago. Every time I called them it was the same old shit, " Oh they will be shipped out this week". I just got tired of hearing that every week.

I saw another thread somewhere where someone else was saying that Trail-Gear sent them a Boss clutch kit instead of the Aisin like the advertise.

All back together now. Matched up pretty good considering I can't cut straight. Got it screwed together for now till I can get it welded. Hell the tailgate even shut with no problems.

Nah man, he designed it that way, like a Honda Ridgeline. The tailgate drops like a truck, but also swings open like an SUV.
