I don't know how well Ted can shoot that new XD of his, but I know he can bang out some tight groups at 300 yards with that M1.

I think I would have to let you break in on your own Perv.

It going to take more then one person to remove the transmission from my truck.

Eric_N
09-07-2007, 06:23 PM
LOL, I thought you were doing basic maintenance items and such

Eric_N
09-07-2007, 06:25 PM
Do you have a trans jack or something of the sort? I can bring mine down. And it only takes one person to remove a trans, I pulled mine out of the 91 with dual cases by myself.

Ted

Here is the list. I have been thinking about the clutch for sometime now. It's not a hard job with enough people. I did it myself in the 85 truck.

1) Rear breaks. Got new drums (Thanks Donnie), and I got a hardware kit for it today.
2) Replace header "y" pipe, and put in new O2 Sensor. I'm going to weld the front cat to the "y" pipe flange. Screw TRD, and their shitty design.
3) Change Engine Oil.
4) Run new antenna cable for 2M radio.
5) Install Mike's used Skid plate on my truck.
6) Do a general check for heath of truck. Tie rods, inner tie rod etc.
7) I do have no fancy engine mounts, I may install if time permittes.

I have a floor jack..a trans jack would be nice. If you have long 1/2 extensions, please bring them.

My trans jack is an adaptor, it replaces the circular pad on the jack with a flat plate that is adjustable, ill bring it down. Ive got a few lonf 1/2" extentions as well as 1/2" swivel impact sockets and my electric impact. Im gonna pack it all up in a little bit, it will make things go alot quicker.

Awsome. Ill be down on Tuesday to help you get it buttoned up.

Ted

Sounds good. I removed the cat, and mocked the new Y pipe. When the transmission is back in, I'm to see it will fix with the cat attached to the Y pipe. If it does, the cat is getting welded to the Y pipe. That should fix the leaks.

Ted

You stuff wet news paper in to the cavity behind the pilot bearing. Then use a 1/4 socket extension, and pound on it. Then add more wet paper, and keep it up until it comes out.

Cool. We can throw your new shifter in also during reassembly. When are you putting the pics up of our fun day in the Moab dirt shower?

Wheel bearing grease works well too

I have not driven it yet. The batter was too low this AM, plus I had to work.
