yeah it is.

If you are in a precarious situation and don't want to get out of the driver's seat to dig out and hook up the standard control. You can just have a buddy run the line and once it is hooked up you can hit the button and go. When I am done with the 4Runner my front and rear winches will both have in-cab controls. Of course you could route the standard control through your engine compartment and cab to use inside, but than you will not be able to use it outside of the cab if needed.

It is better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
