So I drove the beater to work yesterday just for the hell of it. The first 10 miles or so I was behind the same car and I smelled a clutch burning. I douldn't determine if it was mine or theirs. It was mine.
It's slipping pretty bad; I can go from 3rd gear to 5th @ 30 MPH without it bogging down the engine at all.
Right now I have three options:
1) Replace it this week with a cheap-ass clutch (which should out-live the rest of the truck at this point). Then I can still take my junk to Rausch Creek this weekend.
2) Replace it later (with a decent clutch) and take my Heep to Rausch and just run easy blue trails.
3) Bail out on the R.C trip completey and stay home like a pansy.
What do ya think?

You Pansy, why even ask? LOL.
Go get you an $80 clutch kit, get your hands dirty tomorrow and wheel it next weekend.

Jason, one of those LUK kits from Advance or Auto Zone will last a long time, even wheeling it. Just get it done!

I second the Luk pro gold clutch. Not that much and there better than stock. I ran one with my 35's.

Turner just helped me line it all up and get the bellhousing bolts in. I still have to install all the various parts like the starter, slave cylinder, driveshafts, shifters, etc.
