when i get home from iraq, i'm planning on installing this lift. i think i read somewhere that it'll move my front axle forward. if this true, where can i get the new driveshaft??
Are you sure you want to add a 7" lift. What are your overall plans for your Toy. If you need a new Driveshaft contact high angle driveshafts for a quality long slip one for a decent price.
Be safe in IRAQ and come back in one piece. I am a Army SFC stationed in DC for now so if I out rank you thats an order.

I second Kajo, you don't need that much lift to wheel, but if that's what you want, that's your deal.
You'll need new or rebuilt driveshafts. If you're in the tidewater area, I can refer you to a few shops.
However, I also second Kajo on thanking you for your service. Come back safe and sound and we'll help you get your truck where you want it.
Good luck over there, I look forward to helping you with your '84 when you get back.

where do you live? there are local shops that can do it for you too. as everyone said before, if you plan on wheeling your toy on the rocks, 7" is too much. 4-5" with 35" seems to work well. what else are you getting with your kit or are you piecing it together? i would definitely recommend upgrading your steering to an IFS box with a hy-steer setup instead of using your stock setup (even with a drop pitman arm). pull-push is not an ideal setup for that much lift.
what type of wheeling do you like doing? with 7" in mind, sounds like you want to hit the mud or do a show style rig.

seriously if yer actually gonna wheel it, you need to go here http://www.marlincrawler.com/trailflex.html and buy this, if you put 7" inches of lift on your junk you better put a cage in it too cause yer gonna on your lid before you get off the access road.
if yer just gonna do mud, go buy a ford.

Come home safe and thanks for everything your doing over there.
FYI I got marlins 4 inch springs and hangers and run 37s with fender trimming. I wouldnt want higher for any kind of wheeling.
When it had a bed 35s cleared the wheel wells with minor trimming.

first off let me say thanks for the info. as for my truck, i have never been wheelin. mainly becuz of when i am home, everytime u guys plan a cookout or a trip, im always working. but as far as the lift goes. the truck sure aint gonna be a show truck. all i do is hunt and fish and im tired of my tacoma getting scratched up from that. but i do want my 84 to look nice. and i have plenty of money for this. so, im not sure if my future has any wheelin trips in it or not. right now i live in newport news, but in august when i get out, i'll be moving back home next to lynchburg. i've been coming to this site for a year or so now just to have something to read or hepful hints now and then. and i havent seen to many people on here from there. but, we'll talk again soon before i come home in january. just to see what would be my best bet. again thanks for your help and support. and i'll be home soon

Let's not get too crazy buggy boy!
He's looking for a lift, not a formula toy. :D
The marlin kit looks very complete if nothing else, though I've never seen a truck with it.
My personal opinion, take the overloads off the rear, replace all the shocks with Bils or something decent. Wheel it like that for a while then decide how much lift and/or flex you really need. Might just save you a ton of bucks. You don't have to have a big truck to wheel big.
