WTF is up with this board? this fuckin thing takes a month of sundays to load, its like goddam dial-up style. is it just my junk ass comp? everywhere else i go on the net there is no prob, everything loads at the correct the speed. and its only when i go into the different sections, the main forum index pops right up, but goin to the different sections is like a week-long trip. if no one else is havin this prob then i guess it just my shit, is there anyone else who experiences this? its startin to piss me off.....shocker.....

Everyone should have the slow loading problem, I know I have the same problem. I think the site is on mikes sever (powweb) which I think is the reason why it is slow.

I'm not sure what is causing the slowness. It was butt slow today. I can't tell if it's the webserver itself, or the SQL database server. I would suspect it's the SQL server, maybe it's not scaling well

Is the site on Mike's box or is it hosted somewhere?
I don't think it's a scaling problem unless it's a shared db server and someone else on it is being a hog. This site is small and the traffic is low.
Then again, we might just have a buggy version of the software...

The web is a vhost on a shared resource. The SQL is shared also. If I'm wrong, Mike will correct me.

Yea, it is all hosted via powweb.

Let me clean some things up and see if that improves things.

I'll check with powweb to see if any outages or problems are going on.

EDIT 1: Other people (other powweb users) are reporting problems with the mysql02.powweb.com server, which is the shared server the Database resides on. I'll see what is going on.

EDIT 2: Powweb upgraded the php software which seems to be causing server errors, could be a factor.

If anyone has a suggestions for moving the site to a new host, i'm game.

EDIT 3: If the site goes down, shoot me an e-mail to mike@mikeharan.net so I can document any problems.

Turner, if you have any problems/issues that appear out of the ordinary, let me know. I'm not a mind reader.

There is a new version of the software out as well. I have been reluctant to upgrade (since the upgrade is relatively minor) but I can give it a whirl this weekend.
