I have replaced the spark plugs in my 2001 2.7L, and have a question about the idle...
When the truck is at normal temp., and idleing(750 rpm) every now and then the engine seems to "jerk", Like a rough idle or something. It's almost like a miss, or something. Very hard to explain if your not sitting in the truck, and it never stalls (Yet!). Just wanted to know if anyone else has experianced this, and maybe if the problem is in the ECU, or could be solved by "adjusting" the idle..(which I would like to know how)

What kind of plugs? and you sure you got your wires on fully.

Got the Denso ones from Toyota here in town. I will have to check again...but I made sure the clips were fully pressed into the coil packs, and snapped.

It really isn't a big problem...yet. If it starts to stall, or makes funny noises, then I'll really worry. It's more of a aggrivation. The thing "kicks" once, then returns to a regular idle. If I'm at a long light, it may do it twice.

Did you check the gap in the plugs? Or did you just put them in.

Ps. What the hell is your avatar?

I was TOLD they were "pre-gapped"...and I think I checked one, but not the others. I would hate to take all that crap off again to find out that I screwed up by not taking my time to check them all.

My avatar is that stupid beast used by the "Esuvee" commercials. You know the ones telling everyone that their SUV's are harder to drive and control than regular cars....

There never gapped right. I would look there first.
