Picked up my new (to me) 83 mini yesterday....god-awful bondo job on the bed, motor is strong, rust in frame has been plated and boxed, hell the cab even looks good! Time to order the dual case adapter from inchworm, and flatbed sthe sucker, then comes hi-steer, tires, gears locker etc....gonna sell the Taco, buy a gas getter, and spend the rest on the mini....life is finally looking up!!!!

Just make sure that frame is good inside and out. You don't want to be a Newman. Then go for it. Keep us posted and let us know what help you need. finding parts and such.

Godd luck with her. Keep it street legal. Tow rigs and trailors get to be costly. Gas alone is alot when you get 11 mpg towing. I

Word. I sold my Heep on Saturday. Now I'm looking for a cheap commuter car and any leftover cash is getting dumped into my beater.

Beaters are awesome.

the guy I bought it from had already dropped the gas tank, removed the bed, and boxed in the rusted areas of the frame with 3/16" plate and u-channel. I got all up under there to make sure he did a good job. So far I know that a doubler is going on, rusted bed is being replaced with a flatbed, and I have the tube for the sliders in the garage already...now all I need to do is convince the wife that it will be money well spent!

I don't agreee with this, but here is my brother-in-law's motto:
It's easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

You haven't met my wife......and he sounds single:) I am on a low budget build until the Taco goes, maybe I will sell some guns for funds...hate to part with one baby to build another though......
