PLEASE READ BEFORE VOTING. POLL IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES

The Southeast regional chapters will be hosting their second annual ride at Tellico, from June 1-4, 2006. For those that don't know, Tellico is the premier off-road park in the Southeast, offering challenging trails for all levels of wheelers, from stock to highly modified. It is located in southwestern NC, and can be accessed from eastern TN as well. Camping will be at Crawford's Campground, which is about 15 minutes from Murphy, NC. We will have a dinner and raffle Saturday night, with prizes from a variety of vendors/sponsors (raffle tickets will most likely be $5).

This year's ride was a great time for everyone involved, and 2006 looks to be even better with even more chapters being involved. Right now we've got members planning to come from the following chapters: NC, TN, AL, GA, FL, MD, and VA. As it currently stands, most people will be showing up Thursday afternoon/evening, wheeling Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Some folks will be staying thru Sunday, leaving Monday morning.

Camping rates and information can be found at http://www.crawfordsattellico.com/ Crawford's is easily one of the nicest, cleanest campgrounds you could ever want to visit. It has a rock garden, obstacle course, and mud pit, as well as campsites with or without electricity and water. It has several individual heated/AC'd bathrooms, each with it's own shower, and they have a garage available with welding machine for those folks who may need to make some repairs at some point (there is a fee for use of the garage).

Here is a map of Tellico's trails. See the links below the map for pics from various previous rides at Tellico.

I am planning on attending. I would like to see more people from MD/VA and even DE show up at this event.

Also, keep in mind next year's TTORA Takeover will be held in Hot Springs, AK on the weekend of the 21st to the 23rd.

Hey Mike- Since this thread never got any attention (maybe we're all too pussy to drive to Tellico - it took me a zillion hours when I went before, and my junk was in better condition) I pulled the sticky off of it so we can let it run its course. -Jason

So... since Memorial Day weekend is coming up, and for all those not attending BBQ's, we should plan a weekend trip and try and get as many people together as possible. Since no one wanted to go to Tellico, maybe somewhere a little closer, like a 2-3 day trip to various VA wheeling spots. Places that are closer together, like GWNF, conway/devils ditch, shoe creek, or if we can Crozet. post up some ideas, or just to express interest. I don't know if the vote poll button deal is working.

Probably not, way to far to drive my junk, unless I can get someone to tow me.

Not going to Tellico anymore. Lets think of someplaces closer to go for the weekend. Read the above posts from Jason and myself. We want to plan a new trip because no wanted to go to Tellico. Post some ideas this week and we'll finalize something on Sunday.

The Tellico trip is still happening, it's just that nobody from here really responded. I think Ted and Mike are the only ones going from here.

Try starting up a new thread for planning a closer trip. I think it will get a better response than this one is getting.
