changing oil pan?

My oil pan is getting some pretty bad rust spots on it
(flaking chunks). Has anyone ever had to replace one before? It looks like it can be a pain in the butt to do.
Any ideas? Its a 98' 2.7L btw.

I is a little bit of a pain to do because you have to drop the front diff to get the pan out.

just pull the motor and do a complete rebuild. timingbelt concerns and oil pan junk.... time to pull it and do it all at once. then you only crack it open once.
