Just wanted to let you all know that the upper bypass that goes above the steps is now legal. The forest service wants a easier way for hunters etc. to get around instead of leveling the steps. (thank you V4WDA) I know we discussed this a few months back, thought i would let a few of you know. Also the land at the entrance is private, so please take it easy, lock'm in etc. so we can keep the 33 entrance.

This is the bypass just to the left of the hard part, correct? Had a small sign on a tree?

That's good news. Thanks for posting the info Jeremy. And a big thanks to V4WDA.

That is great news! Has the yellow sign to the left of the steps looking up the trail been taken down?

I'm not sure about the the sign. I haven't been their for a few months. I was just at the V4WDA meeting the land use guy (Greg Jackson) said it is now a legal bypass, just please take it easy on the private land. I'll try to go look soon.

The sign was still there last weekend when I went. This was after Greg's (VA4WD) meeting with the rangers...

I hope they open it, because the main trail has gotten even tougher with weather and such.

I should mention, someone cut down the tree (the one that had roofline damage on the left (when heading down) of the main trail).

And, someone has done some serious "stacking" on Dictum as well. They didn't clear the rocks when they were done, so the steps have become considerably shorter.

we just did it yesterday, no sign.

a bunch of **** guys made a ramp out of rocks on the hard side. It was pretty funny.

The bypass has gotten more rugged too, and it loves my front axle for some reason
