With the recent OBX issue and the potential closure of the Hammers I think we need to step up once again. Ted commented how signatures don't really do much and we need to send money to the big organizations that have a real dog in the fight. I agree completely.
We had geat success with the help from alot of our members who contributed to the Blue Ribbon Coalition membership for Mid-Atlantic Toyota Crawlers. I'd like us (MATC) to join Tread Lighly as well as BRC. Trail clossures are only going to get worse and we can try to aid the fight as a club, together.
Tread Lightly's mission,
Tread Lightly! is dedicated to promoting the fun and enjoyment of the outdoors and the responsibility that comes with it. Tread Lightly! is an ethical and educational force in bringing together and unifying a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including agencies, industry, media, conservation and enthusiast groups, and concerned individuals who share a common goal to find balance between humans and nature. Tread Lightly! empowers generations to enjoy the outdoors responsibly through education and stewardship.
Like BRC, Tread Lightly's annual club membership fee is $100. We will be putting BRC and Tread Lightly banner's on our main page to show others that we as a club are responsible 4wheelers and care about our environment. Either ten members donate $10 or twenty donate $5, maybe even something in between. What does this do for you as a donater besides doing your part to preserve a recreation we all love?
