The day has finally arrived. First real vacation in almost 4 years. Leaving at 4:00 am for Myrtle Beach. 7 days of no work. Can't wait. Oh yeah. I got that little "Mexican Ninja" going along for the ride. Should be an interesting week.

Enjoy. I was in MB for a week in early June. The water is warm and the tail is abundant.

What do you want to do?

I've stayed at both campgrounds and hotels. If you want quiet and no crowds, look into surfside beach, which is right below S. Myrtle Beach. If you want crowds, anywhere on the Grand Strand

I don't golf, so I just stay wherever the beach is decent.

I'm more partial to the Surfside/Garden City Area. There isn't alot of the "kid cruising" traffic with the pounding stereo's. If you like the cruising element then stay somewhere on Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach. The Surfside Area is a few miles south. I stay at a place called Surfmaster. It's located in Surfside. I've stayed there for the past 6-7 years every time I go down there. It's a condo. You can rent 1-3 bedroom units. They have full kitchens and it's ocean front. Ace's parents own a condo in the Myrtle Beach Resort which is also a nice place to stay. That's located just north of Surfside. I'm sure you'll have a good time no matter where you stay.

I practically grew up in the North Myrtle Beach/Cherry Grove area; spent every summer from '85 - '90 there visiting family.

It was much quieter, you could skate on the sidewalks, and it had much better surfing there than Myrtle Beach.

The surf SUCKED when I was there in June. Then again, I was there in June.

I have a friend that moved to Little River a few years ago. He loves it down there. That area has built up. Alot of condo's being built in that area. Still it's no where near as bad as the North Myrtle/Myrtle Beach area.
