Just figured i'd start i build thread for mine and my dad's 88 runner. its probably gonna be the slowest build up ever and definitly not the most extreme haha. so far as it sits now, its pretty much stock. we bought it the way it sits as of now. fairly clean interior, flip-flop paint, bushwacker flares, little rust, shittybuilt rear bumper, i think it has a small body lift and NO RADIO:eek:. so far, we've put a rebuilt motor in it( i blew the head gasket on the old one :D) new clutch, and new 32x12.50 BFG A/T's.

the things i'd like to do soon to this is, put a radio/decent speakers and such in it. modify the rear bumper, possibly bed liner the bottom half and some new wheels... the list will continue hopefully.

my goal with this is to have a reliable truck that i can drive everyday without problem and is still functional for when i gotta throw stuff in the back and at the same time have a mild trail truck that can do some decent mild wheelin for around here.

all advice welcome, thanks

I've owned my truck for 16 years and one month, and it still isn't done. Don't sweat it. Just modify what you want when you're ready.

Best advice I have for that scenario is to get some ball joint spacers up front to lift it about 1.5", lift shackle in the rear to match the bj spacers, keep it on 32"s or skinny 33"s, and stick a locker in the rear axle. Combine all that with some low gears sometime down the road and it will go anywhere.

Honestly for mild wheeling around here, the only thing you'll need is a locker for the rear. Lower your tire pressure and a rear locker and you'll be surprised how far your truck will take you. Most importantly, have fun .

That's true. I ran 2 years and most of the trails at RC and many at Paragon with just a mild 2" AAL lift on my '85 with some 33" BFG ATs and a rear spool and gears.

Then I started wheeling more and more with Eric, so I had to go upgrade in a hurry. :D
