trying to fix rust and paint faded stripes

ok well the stripes on my 87 are done and i was thinking about painting them black. i was wondering if anyone has good tips on doing this and what i can do to make the paint last cause ill be using spray paint or something like that.

also i have rust on the edges of my front fenders and rear fender. i was gonna bondo that and throw some truck bed liner on the bottom half of the rig. does anyone know what i can do and does anyone have any tips.
