Ok ive been running this through Pirate and have spent a good 4 hrs searching on the computer in the past 2 days and im stumped.

Swapped a EFI extended Cab on Regular cab frame. Done the EFI Swap on the 22R since cab was already wired for it.Cab and Motor both 1985. Plug and Play right. haha.

Every wire and connector was there execpt 1. 3 cut wires no plug, black-red, black-yellow, and black-white. This afternoon figured out that those 3 wires are supposed to plug into big connector on coil and run to the Computer. Got that all hooked up. Tried to crank it and nothing, It is getting spark to the plugs, but no fuel( Dry and no gas smell, plugs are NEW)

Went by the book and checked every single sensor, ECU, Injectors(Test light also showed power to the injectors), grounds(motor grounded to body and frame) fuses and relays, EVERYTHING checked out good by the specs in the book. Also pulled fuel line from motor and cut pump on and its getting fuel.
The only thing not hooked up is the VSV Fuel Pressure Control that mounts to the valve cover. I read 3 different things that says it isnt a neccessary item. Is this Correct? Why isnt the injectors spraying fuel? What lets the fuel to the fuel rail instead of sending it back to the tank? I am stumped Please HELP

This may sound a little odd but what are you running for a fuel pump? Factory in tank from 85, after market, or the the tank from the donor cab? If after market what pressure is it rated for?

Im running a external pump the E2000 pump off a Ford, researched it before i bought it and supposed to be what most people use for the swap.

When you pulled the fuel line and checked it did the fuel shoot with pressure out the open end of the line or just kind of dribble out? Depending on which system you have the max pressure is 50 to 85PSI for the fuel system. Your standard operating pressure is 36 to 41 PSI above the vacuum difference in the intake. So with this much pressure you should have shot fuel 50ft from your truck if the pump is putting out enough pressure. So pull the cold start connector off the fuel rail and hitch up a fuel pressure gauge. You should get a minimum of 25PSI at the fuel rail. 25psi is the minimum on the fuel rail for a cold start. If your not getting that you need to look at the pump being bad or not supplying enough pressure.

P.S. I did the EFI conversion too... I just went about it differently...

You wont shoot fuel that far. Pump wont acheive max PSI untill it has something to restrict it. Even restricted it wont shot that far, maybe 5 feet. A after market PS pump pushing over 1400PSI wont shoot 50feet.

The E2000, early EFI and late EFI pumps all will work. I have a e2000 pump in my rig. I helped put a newer pump in a 85.

To the OP have you manually opened the AFM to see if the pump turns on? If the pump dont turn on check for Power and ground at the pump. If no power and or ground simply follow the ciruit back, if it has power the pump is NFG.

I have the fuel pump wire up to a switch on the dash, so yes it is getting power and is coming on. Just a shot in the dark though Could that have something to do with it. Does the Computer have to get a signal from the fuel pump also for the injectors to work?

Computer is reading code 7 also, something about bad tps or ecu, both checked out good yesterday according to the tests in the book.
