need opinions

i'm looking at an 85 runner with no axles or suspension. basically frame and body. frame in good shape body is typical 85 rust. what would you offer this guy. i'm thinking bout $400. but dont want to screw myself.

i'm asking cause i know taco's and gen 3 runners, but i'm feeling my way to the gen1 runners. the plan is to build a runner as a dual purpose( dd, nad light trail) nothing major. i've got my eye on a zuki for that.

your opinion is appreciated. thanks.

Is the drivetrain all there, EFI harness intact? If so, $400 is fair unless the interior is trashed. What is he asking for it? Does he know what he has?

Ask if the timing chain has ever been replaced, if it starts and rattles, that's a good bargining chip. Meaning, it will need to be replaced and he won't want to deal with that and the price will drop more :).

my plan is to transplant a 3.4ltr into her. the motor runs and int is decient. he has no clue what he has. he took the axles and suspension out to do a sas on an 88 runner.
