I was looking at old Crozet pics just the other day, and I saw this one (http://pics.montypics.com/beatertoyota/2009-08-16/1250480812_crozet_wheeling_7_8_07_011.jpg), so I had to do it...

Stock hangers cut off. I also made an 1/8th inch plate to fit between the new hanger and the crossmember to give a little more weld area
Tomorrow the front hanger goes on, the back gets some finishing touches, and the other side of the front axle gets partially done....waiting on some cone washers(Wednesday) as my stupid ass threw away some of them with the stock arms

Nice build. What size tires are you planning to run? You may want to add Marlin's heavy detent springs for your t-case while it's out. It gives it a nice positive feel and won't pop outta gear on descents.
If I could of done one thing differently, I would have shaved my axles before reassembly. My drain plugs are getting the shit beat outta them. I may have to just weld them up for now.

I found a killer deal on some 38x12.50 TSL'S I know they are too big but i couldn't pass em up

I will end up wishing I did the same. I got a little impatient towards the end as I wanted it done for a trip.
I just got back from the Outer banks......Yep a 3.5 hour road course, daily trips to the sand and a return road trip for a shakedown run and it did just fine. I had to tighten one brake line and the t-case is still leaking a tiny bit in hot temps. The 38's with balance bags and "my" alignment tracked straight had a slight shimmy around 35-40 but smoothed out between 40-75 I was ef'n amazed. I will post pics soon and can't wait to annihilate my stock birfs :scared:

Figured I should update as I promised 6 months ago. The runner was driveable but not wheelable as it was and I was ready to wheel it. I needed bumpstops set, wheel wells clearanced, longfields and my muffler had developed a hole sometime during playing in the snow.
My plan all along had be to hack the fenders getting rid of all the rust and bombing the entire thing some matte color so it was easy to touch up but.... After looking at the retro look, I hated to ruin it. I decided to hit the fenders and lower with some herculiner to hide the welds and grinding.
Any way here are some pics

And before anyone talks shit no I don't do anything that requires me to caulk to pay my bills. (I know the seam sealer looks a little sloppy not real strong with a caulk gun)middle finger

Longs installed tonight, I got lucky and did not have to clearance the ridge around the trunnion on either side. The herculiner has set up nicely and looks pretty good.
The fenders were a pretty big undertaking and I know now why there are only a few writeups on doing them and why they are vague its pretty much a learn as you go process.
I flexed till the tires lifted front, then rear and I still have ample clearance in the wheel wells. I am gonna set my bumpstops with the anticipation that the wheels will move a bit more in real world situations as im sure they will.
Pics soon

Looks good dude. I'm kinda missin' the retro look of the stock wheels and skinny tires though.
Speaking of tires, whenever you decide that you wanna trade your 38"s for my 37" MT/Rs just let me know. :flipoff:

Really I would like to have two 4runners (and a 40,45,60,80, trailblazer, extra cab ect) one modified and one pretty close to stock
