I'm finally getting around to doing something with the convertible '87 I picked up from Kajo earlier this year. 3 months down with a broken wrist really put a damper on this project. Anyway, here's the start.
Kinda what it looked like when I got it from Kajo:

The beginning of cleaning up the original cuts:

Test fit and measuring things up to get the right height:

And finally after a few weekends of welding and grinding and welding and grinding, I finally got some bondo on this weekend:

Hopefully, I'll have some time in the next few weeks to finish up the bondo work and get some paint on it.

Looks good Terry. But you should have put the cage in it before you put the roof back on. :thump:

Probably won't be able to make a frosty balls trip since I'll be in Germany for several weeks in Jan/Feb, but definately planning on making a few trips out this coming summer as long as school doesn't get in the way.

Looks good Terry, I was thinking about doing this to the Tacoma to get rid of the dent I put in it.

Yeah, I'll be there. Got some work to do this weekend to the truck. BJ Spacers, extended shackle, welded rear and hope to pick up a set of 33" ATs.

BJ Spacers and extended shackles installed. Also picked up a set of 33" ATs. Gotta find somebody to install them during the week next week.
Now I just need to pull the 3rd out so I can weld it up.

Walmart did my 37"s for pretty cheap, including un-mounting my Swampers first.

Nice!!!
Have you driven it yet? Wonder how far off the balljoint spacer put the alignment?

Oh, it's out. haha But it doesn't drive bad.
When I get back home next week, I'll get it squared away, but for now, I'm just gonna run it. The caster looks like this \ / though.
I just hope it tracks OK behind the 4Runner since I'm flat-towing it up.

Buddy with the welder fell through this evening. :(
Looks like it's open/open wheeling this weekend.

Lame. If I had a spare 3rd I'd weld it up tonight and take it with me...

Probably to far but you can bring the third here and we can weld it up.

They have a welder at the park I think. And I have a buddy who lives within 15 minutes of the park if you're interested. I'm not speaking on his behalf but it wouldn't be the first time we've used his shop on a whim. :D

The welder at the park is not a good welder. The 220 arc is broke, the 220MIG is broke. Me and Jason fixed the 110Mig's feed 2 weeks ago but they dont have gas and only have solid wire. We used his Co2 tank for shielding gas to fix his driveshaft...

If you don't get it welded up you won't be the only one open/open. I'm planning on hitting green/blue trails one day with my mall runner.

We'll see. I should be there early enough tomorrow, that if I feel like pulling and welding it, there'll be time.
