But I think 500 HP is obtainable for alot less than $10K. Plus my block has forged rods anyway and they're good well over 500hp. But that crate motor sure is pretty.

Here's the rod difference, I believe it's up to 10/2000 build date plus a prior to certain serial number on the valve cover.
