If any one has a clip on amp meter, could you tell me how many amps the starter pulls on a 2.7L?
My next project requires this info.

Dual battery setup. It's requiring alot more wiring and re-wiring than I anticipated.

I put dual battery's in my 1998 tacoma before I got rid of it. I went to the junk yard and robbed an f250 and then still had to buy parts. I will see if I can find all the books and boxes at the shop, I usually keep some sort of notes let me look around

I got pretty much everything figured out. Except for 2 things:
-What size wire to run from the battery to the starter?
-What to do with the alternator feed? It goes directly to the fuse box and from there to the battery. How do I extend/tap into, relocate that feed etc..... This is my biggest obstacle right now. :smt017
edit: I solved these problems
Added: Would welding a bolt to the frame act as a suitable ground? Running wire all the way back to the block just ain't practical.

Why don't you just get the painless wiring kit from summitt?

Ummm... NO. Why pay that much $$$ for something that cost me fractions less. The parts ain't the hard part of this project. It's rewirin everything (alternator, starter, grounds etc...)and trying to make it as clean or cleaner than factory. Sure I could have gone the idiot proof way, but that just ain't no fun.
