Well I have a 2001 TRD 4x4. I live in Newport News and I am in the Air Force. Right now the only thing I have done to my truck is the deck plate mod. I have plans to be lifting 3 inches and getting tires real soon. I am debating a BL since I dont really plan on doing any hardcore climbing or crawling, just the occasional waterhole or hill, or whatever. I am also going to be putting in an e-fan, some sound in the cab and some exhaust. Until I pay this thing off, it's really just going to be a street queen (sorry to say) aside from the aforementioned waterhole etc... so I dont break it! Don't get me wrong, I would totally love to have a rig that I could take out and not care if I slide off a rock and into a tree and put a little love tap in the fender! But until then, I gotta be careful. I hope that sometime I could be able to make it to an event and do some light 4 wheelin though. I work with a member of TTORA, so I'm sure he can inform me on events if I dont catch them on here! Thanks.

Hahaha! So you think I'm gonna give in and just say F*ck it and go wheelin? Well I will definately like to meet up in the mountains and do something light, but nothin that might break me. I do plan on keepin this truck until it dies, but I kjust got it last August so I'd like to keep it descent looking for a while.

Welcome!
No one's going to push you too far, trust me. Your stock truck is much better on the trails than a stock Heep anyday, IMO. You would be amazed at what a stock TRD Tacoma can do on the trails without any damage, or even come close to getting any damage.
Check the Get Togethers section for a GWNF run, there's at least one already posted.
Unless you take some big mud holes or the one or two(optional) decent rocks there, you stand very little chance of any damage at GWNF if you can avoid the trees. And the trees are not an issue as most of the area can be ran in 2wd if it's dry.
I suggest you go on a run up there, then decide if the bug hits you or not, and then what you want to do with your truck.
Hope to see you on the next run,
Kyle
