If anyone wants to go, Crozet is having open wheeling on May 6th and 7th. I'm going for a shakedown run for the 4runner, just to make sure all the new mods work, before going to Tellico the following weekend. I'll most likely be running the easy blacks on saturday and riding with someone else on sunday.

Since I'm not gonna make it to Big Dogs next weekend, I think I can have my junk put back together for Crozet.
It'll be nice to break it in pretty close to home, in case I have any problems.
Who else is gonna go?

Anyone want to go to crozet? Anyone... Bueller... Bueller...
Beater, I hope I have my truck ready by then, how long did your dual cases take?
By the way, rebuliding a front axle is the nastiest funk I've ever had up my fingernails.

When I bought mine, Inchworm was running a pretty good sale, so I bought the adapter and a modified 2nd case. Bolting it all in didn't take too long, but if you have to modify your donor case it'll take a bit longer.
Driveshaft lengthening and shortening took a day. I dropped them off before work one day, and I picked them up the next day.
My SAS is about done. I got a lot done today. The axle swap is the easy part. You are right, rebuilding a 21 year old axle is nasty work.
Who else is going????? I wheeled there last time with 2 Samurais and a freakin' Sidekick on 34"s. We need more Yotas there.

I got a buddy with a sick sas'd 4runner who wheels there regularly. He is most likely going, I'll have to make sure. other than that I have no idea. Probably a bunch of ****s. I'm not trying to get too crazy on the trails, just moderately crazy. I need to keep my junk together for tellico.
I just ordered my crawler box adapter from marlin. I have to replace my clutch so I figured while I'm under there...
I figured someone on here could use a day or two of local wheeling. We still got time.

its mostly a swamp and a creek but there is some dirt and obstacles to ride through. its nothing like any of the places the club goes to but its something to do when your bored.

I let Chris know some of us were coming, Everyone who wants to go should email Chris at ****nchris@xjsrule.com so he can get a count. I don't know how many people ride there but its limited to 40 trucks so let him know soon.
Beater is right, more yotas should go show those ****s how to drive without flopping. Some dude on here ran with 31's and open diffs. His skids took a beating but he didn't break anything.
last thing, its officially nice outside now, time to go beat up your trucks.

Cool, so you talked to Chris. I hadn't seen anything posted anywhere else about this particular weekend (usually the open weekends are posted on NOVA ****ers, but I didn't see it there either). I was starting to wonder where you got your info. :D
Yes, the weather is nice. Now dust off your rigs and lets go wheeling.

Got the info from the xjsrule site. I was looking for something to do the weekend before the the SEFRJ at tellico and saw there was open wheeling. Thats the only weekend I have to test out the high-steer , dual cases, exhaust, new tires, and everything else I've spent way too much money on recently. Hope nothing breaks because I don't know if I can afford to fix it for the next weekend.
Beater, Good to see your SAS is finally done. Look forward to seeing it in action.

By the way, if some of the less built up trucks don't want to go to Crozet, I'm down for any suggestions for an alternate wheeling spot. Madison(Conway River, Devils Ditch) or Shoe Creek are options for anyone who wants to still wheel and stay reasonably green.

Beater, hate to do this but I have to bail. My best friend is coming in from Colorado on friday night and his parents are taking us to the NASCAR race on Saturday.
Sorry about bailing on the trip I posted, but races at RIR are a blast. I'm looking for something to do Memorial Day weekend so let me know if anyone has any ideas.

No problem. I'm having second thoughts about going anyway. Partly 'cause nobody has shown any interest, and partly 'cause I really need to work on my kitchen remodel. My house is a joke right now.
