A bunch of guys from Fredericksburg are itching to go hit some easy trails so...

If anyone is interested in joining us... we're going up to George Washington National Forest on Saturday, July 22nd.

I don't have any wheeling trips scheduled between now and Big Dogs in August so I figured it would be a good time to go screw off.

If we get several people together I'll probably camp too (good excuse to drink beer).

you suck...that's the weekend of nationals...and we have to go back for that...gotta sow off the new baby...and my parents are going to take both girls while we go have fun at takeover:) Otherwise we would show up...considering the meadow is only like 30 mins from our house.

HOLY CRAP! Where the hell have you been Mark? Good to hear from ya. You should definitely try to make it up. I'm gonna end up camping for the weekend but I'll still go to the Shell Station Saturday morning to meet up with people.

Ace, do you mind if I run some newbies from a local, mostly Heep, club out there with you that weekend? We'd stay independent, but would camp at the meadow Saturday night as well.

That would be cool. The more the merrier. You going up Friday night or Saturday morning? I haven't decided yet. Everyone I'm going up with wants to go Saturday morning but I'm worried the meadow will be taken if I don't show up Friday night.
Well, if no one ends up goin out there til Saturday then we can meet up at the Shell station at 9:00, then find a good camping spot if the meadow is taken.

Some stuff came up so I won't be able to camp but I'll be at the Shell station at 9:00 a.m. Saturday then meet up with everyone else at the meadow around 9:45. I'll have 3 other trucks with me.

If you're headed down 33 west through Harrisonburg it's the last gas station on the right side AFTER you go through the town of Harrisonburg. Give me a shout if you get lost. 540-226-5335.

It's next to a closed Food Lion. You can use the address of 924 W. Market St, Harrisonburg, VA to get directions at Mapquest.com.

I'm trying to find the shortest route there. Ace, how long does it take you to get to the park and which route do you take ? Once in harrisonburg how far is the park ? This is the address i have for the park 5162 valleypointe parkway roanoke va. If i use this address mapquest has me going to 301-95-295-64-81 5 hour driving time. If i use the gas station address its 3.5 hours and it has me going 4-95-66-81. It looks like your an 1hour 45 minutes from me coming from 301 across the river. I'm coming from Solomons Island. Also who plans on staying saturday night ? Thanks All

The National forest is only 20 minutes from the gas station. You definitely want to use the gas station address. The first address you have is not where we're goin.
I'm not camping this time around. You're more than welcome to follow us back to Fredericksburg Saturday evening and crash at my place. That way you'll be much closer to home Sunday. I can get some people together and we could have a cookout/pool party/bonfire if you want.

Yeah man. Whoever isn't up for camping is more than welcome to follow us back to my house. Billy, Terrie, John and Heidi are packin their swimtrunks. After the trailride...straight to my house.

Seen you all at 257 grocery (mile from my house) sat at 5pm. Would have stoped but got twins in UVA in nicu and had to get across the mountain.

I had a great time this weekend. Looking forward to going back up there to spent some time in the woods. If anyone is able to do a week day ride let me know,i want to take my 2 boys up to camp for the night. Just a little worried about wheeling by myself without a winch. I would like to get any photos of the weekend as well. Thanks again for a great time.
