Last Wednesday night (Thursday morning) between 12:00 am and 7:30 am someone threw a beer bottle loaded with cigarettes and cracked the windshield on my truck. I called the police and an officer came out and filed a report. We did find a bottle with a fingerprint on it but I haven't heard anything more on that. I am going to get any information that I can from the police on Monday. I called the insurance company and found out that I do not have glass coverage, and I have no idea what a windshield costs to have replaced but I am determined to have those responsible pay for it. I am 90% sure that the bottle came from the second floor apartment in the building that I park behind. I have tried to talk to them twice now, neither time with any luck. I know they are home because I can see the screen door open and all of the lights on. So that makes me even more suspicious that they are the guilty ones. I have talked with a few people about how I can get them back, but haven't got any suggestions that will keep me out of jail. (Since I work in the security business the police already have my fingerprints on file. That's a huge disadvantage to me.) If you guys have any ideas about what I can do please let me know. Any help will be much appreciated.

People suck. Someone stole the CD player in my 85 truck.

I hate to see that. I've had windows busted out, CB's stolen, and most recently, a screwdriver broken off in my door lock. The worst thing is they will not catch the person(s) who did this, and it will come out of your pocket, or be part of your comprehensive deductable. Auto glass places are used to charging insurance companies extra, then using the extra $$ to save you the deductable. Call around and tell the glass places you're not filing a claim. You'll probably get out for around $200.
I know man, it really sucks, but unless the police are really bored in your area, or there's been a rash of this type thing, filing a report is as far as it goes with Mr Law. They only have so many resources and need to focus them elsewhere. It's not that they don't care, it's that the larger crimes need the resources.
All the same, I'm crossing my fingers for you,
Kyle
