I did that to my 95.5...rustoleum flat black, cut 15% with acetone, and sprayed on with my HPLV gun. It wears well, but shows water spots. Took 3 hours to tape, and about 20 minutes per coat to spray...total cost....$9, plus tape

Finally found some time to start knocking things out. Started on the driver side wheels.
Before: ![]() After a wire brush on a corded drill, some xylol, five coats of primer and 5 coats of semi-gloss black. I left the tires on and painted the inside of the rim as well. This was a couple days later with a little dirt on it: ![]() Driver's side done: ![]() And the grill:

Next will be the passenger side wheels, the front bumper, the trim and some tint = mall crawler complete! Then hopefully some decent sized aggressive tires. We'll see...
I also sprayed some flat black in the fender wells. Not a big deal, but a nice trick I used to use when I was detailing cars. Spray everything you can see in the fender well. "Cleans" things up pretty good! |
